Automatic car-wash
Hereby we can inform you that from September 1st 1998, we have got an official registered automatic car-wash and disinfection capacity and also a store for disinfected transportmeans.
In the European Parliament they talk about the transport of Bio- and lifestock animals and materials that only can be transported with just for that purpose intended and judged trucks.
Besides, lifestock only may be transported with for that purpose intended transportmeans and, if there is a R&O statement present.
Anticipating at the committing rules we have all this already under control.
RVV-Holland has registered and booked Kuiken Expres in the RVV-Register (Europe) as official registered R&O place with the restriction that it is only admitted for our own transportmeans.
We can hand over a clean-truck-certificate that is valid in the whole of Europe.
In conjuction with you we can with the deliveries hand over a certificate that is tuned to your veterinary wishes.

Transportcompany wants IKB-acknowledgement.
"We are ready for this for a long time "
In the whole poultry chain also the service- and transportcom- panies would like to join with IKB. There is a possibility for this but the rules are delayed. Some precursors, like Henk van Dijk from Kuiken Expres, are ready for participation for already a long time.
Trolleys, loadcapacities, disinfectionmeans, transportdocumentation, hygienics, administration, creditsystems, climate controlsystem, teamwork, bordercrossings,service for customers. These are just a few things out of the knowledge and qualities about which a driver of Kuiken Expres has to manage. You don't become there a driver at once. The first six months the beginner is second driver. He just will be send as first driver to Europe with a transport of chicks if he controls everything exactly. Because of the specialized transport which Kuiken Expres does, there are high requirements for the drivers. Kuiken Expres owns 15 trucks which are fully equipped to transport hatching-eggs, day-old-chicks and young hens at the most hygienic way. Van Dijk especially works for hatcheries who want to deliver their highgrade and expensive material (Parent Stock and Grand Parent Stock) within IKB-requirements.
An own IKB-system.
Kuiken Expres is, like all other transportcompanies, not IKB- acknowledged. Just because there are (yet) no requirements formed for transport of animals. Henk van Dijk says that he would like to get such an acknowledgement because that way they can insert in the chain. Everybody within IKB has been registered and that is what he also would like to achieve. Van Dijk regularly asks the Produktschap to come with rules for spelling for this. Van Dijk explains that his company works with an IKB-system for a long time but it has no name and the procedures belong to ISO and HACCP rules. An ISO-acknowledgement is more important for yourself than it is to the outside world. ISO means that you have got to stick to that what you wrote down and for IKB it is the same according Van Dijk. He says that they just want to work according those rules and that they want to join the HACCP-rules which actually are meant for the foodsection. Here also are no rules settled for the preceding links. Together with RVV and Transport en Logistiek Nederland Van Dijk is trying to set up attainable rules. Because it will take a while before the IKB-acknowledgement is settled, a lot of things happen on their own initiative or by request of customers. For example: muster and disinfection and cleaning of the trucks.
With an IKB-acknowledgement all this would be self-evident. Our customers muster our cars and report the results to us. Because we are no part of a hatchery which is IKB-acknowledged, it means that we can't muster by ourselves. IKB would simplify that procedure.
Hygienics: no single concession.
For Kuiken Expres it is not difficult to comply with the IKB- rule. Who turnes over the leaves of the driversmanual sees immediately that there are no single concessions concerning the hygienics. When trucks come back from a transport they always have to go through the automatic car-wash of Kuiken Expres.
The trolleys have to be disinfected and are stored in a shed with one-way-traffic. The truck also has to be disinfected and cleaned from the inside. There is a continuing inspection at the cleaning and disinfection. Besides, the RVV musters our cars regularly and the customers also muster our trucks. Drivers always have to shower and put on clean clothes first before they start with the next transport. Further they have to fulfil all hygienic rules of the custo- mers. The consequence of all "selfmade" rules is that Kuiken Expres has got little problems by bordercrossings because all their rules have been communicated with the customs. A lot of hatcheries would like to use the transportcompany Kuiken Expres because they know that than everything will be fine. In foreign countries there are relationships of customers who use the expertise of Henk van Dijk to let the local transport of chickens functionate better. Van Dijk: me and a lot of my colleques do know how it has to be and we act also. Just the official acknowledge is missing and that is a pity because we are an important link in the whole chain.
